Heidjer Bridge Year of construction of the first bridge: 1984 Replacement construction in: 2023 Total span: 74.4 m The "Heidjer Bridge" is part of the road connection between the Zevener Sonnenkamp and the town of Offensen. It spans the Oste lowland in the area of a historic ford at the same location. The first permanent bridge connection at this location was built in 1984, the so-called "Heidjer Bridge". Due to the poor structural condition and the first bridge structure, the municipality of Heeslingen and the city of Zeven built a joint replacement construction in 2023. For this purpose, they received grants to promote integrated rural development (ZILE) from the Lower Saxony Ministry of Food, Agriculture and Consumer Protection.

The Huvenhoopsmoor is one of the most important resting areas for cranes. They populate the moor in large numbers, which is why it is well protected and can hardly be seen or walked on. While there are two viewpoints on the west side, it's primarily the view from the Ostetal down the moor that promises to me the nicer, random vistas of cranes. On the one hand, the landscape towards the moor is more open and, on the other hand, some fields line the Ostetal. So you can catch a glimpse of the beautiful birds here - at least during the day.

From the bridge you have a nice view of the Oste! The river just always fascinates when you see it. On the shore zones next to the bridge there are also very nice views.

A beautiful, narrow path leads to the edge of the Huvenhoopsmoor. The moor is better visible than from its western side. In my opinion, animal sightings are also better possible from here.
