Next to the tower is a small, abandoned, and rotten wooden shelter. It protected me from the rain after 12 km and provided the only place to sit so far.

The Wachknock 517m is a beautiful mountain overlooking Ebermannstadt. From the summit cross you have a beautiful view down into the Wiesenttal and the surrounding mountains of Franconian Switzerland. If you hike up the Wachknock, you can easily combine this with a detour to Burgstall Feuerstein and Burg Feuerstein!

Catholic City Church of St. Martin. Located on the Green Market, the church, built in 1686, is one of the highlights in the heart of the city.

On the Marienaltar to the right of the choir there is a Pietà, which comes from the Liebfrauenkapelle in Widdern and came to Bamberg in 1617. The statue was already the destination of pilgrimages in Widdern and was venerated from 1625 in the predecessor of today's Martinskirche, the old St. Martin's Church.

The Friesener Warte is always worth a hike, if only because of the breathtaking view that the high plateau offers.

Also a beautiful vantage point in winter and very close to Feuerstein Castle. Great view of the Walberla and the Wiesenttal.
