Currently (since March 2025), the elevator from the station building to the platforms is broken. Those traveling with a heavy bicycle should approach the station via Brennerstraße. There, there is also an elevator to the underpass near the bicycle parking garage.

Good starting and finishing point.

Next to the tower is a small, abandoned, and rotten wooden shelter. It protected me from the rain after 12 km and provided the only place to sit so far.

Catholic City Church of St. Martin. Located on the Green Market, the church, built in 1686, is one of the highlights in the heart of the city.

The station is always busy. It's a convenient starting and ending point for bike tours and hikes, or simply for a stroll through one of Bavaria's most beautiful cities.

On the Marienaltar to the right of the choir there is a Pietà, which comes from the Liebfrauenkapelle in Widdern and came to Bamberg in 1617. The statue was already the destination of pilgrimages in Widdern and was venerated from 1625 in the predecessor of today's Martinskirche, the old St. Martin's Church.
