Treuchtlingen City Palace is a Renaissance palace in Treuchtlingen in the Middle Franconian district of Weißenburg-Gunzenhausen. Historically, the palace is also known as the Lower Veste, in reference to the Upper Veste located further upstream. The building is registered as a historic monument in the Bavarian Register of Monuments under monument number D-5-77-173-23.[1] The address is Heinrich-Aurnhammer-Straße 3 and 5. The palace is the birthplace of Gottfried Heinrich zu Pappenheim, a cavalry general during the Thirty Years' War. The quote from Friedrich von Schiller's drama *The Death of Wallenstein* is dedicated to him: "That's how I recognize my Pappenheimers." Today, the palace houses, among other things, the Treuchtlingen City Museum.

Very beautiful little castle with a small park, definitely worth a visit if you are in Treuchtlingen.

The Renaissance town palace of Treuchtlingen, Niedere Veste, was acquired in 1447 by Georg zu Pappenheim and rebuilt by Georg zu Pappenheim. The Obere Veste in Treuchtlingen is a castle ruin.

I only saw it from the outside: Romantic place, very well-kept grounds... Anja's museum cafe, delicious cream puff chocolate cake... You know I can't resist things like that
