The palace chapel dedicated to Saint Wolfgang was built in 1490 by Johann von Leonrod. Next to the tower, a depiction of Christ and the year 1497 commemorate the construction. Next to it is the coat of arms of Baron von Süsskind, who had the nave and the tower modified in a neo-Gothic style in 1868. Inside, the chapel was painted with Gothic tracery and stencil painting + completely renovated in the years 1994 to 2002 with the State Office for the Preservation of Monuments. The Wernfels Castle is always worth a hike, if only because of the breathtaking view that the very well-kept complex offers, in the complex there is a youth hostel with individual use, among other events for young and old. The castle has been renovated in a modern way and has the flair of the Middle Ages not lost.

Absolutely worth seeing facility with castle and associated landscape park. Admission is currently €15 and contributes to the maintenance of the facility. The castle park was laid out by the "green" Baron Süsskind, who did almost all the planting here himself.
