Wülzburg Castle offers an interesting journey into history. It is located on a hill (630 m) near Weißenburg. Free parking is available. Alternatively, you can choose the several-hour climb through the forest from Weißenburg. You can visit the inner courtyard of the pentagonal fortress at any time. Guided tours of certain areas are available from May to October (hourly, with the last one at 4 p.m.). You can then see, among other things, the cellars and the spectacular fountain. You can enjoy refreshments at the castle inn within the complex. An easy path leads around the outside of the fortress, offering beautiful views.

The food was very good after the long hike. Excellent in taste. The landlord was very nice and accommodating. There is Wi-Fi for young people, including mature youth.

The old Ansbach Hohenzollern fortress of Wülzburg is located above Weißenburg, on the highest hilltop in the southern Franconian Jura at 630 meters. It is a historic fortress built between 1588 and around 1610.

The summit of the 620 m high Lämmerberg (or Wülzburger Berg) is located in the middle of the Wülzburg fortress. It is part of the low mountain range of the Franconian Alb, after the Laubbichel, the Steinberg and the Auf der Ebene the fourth highest elevation in the Weißenburg Alb and the fourth highest in the east of the Bavarian district of Weißenburg-Gunzenhausen.

On the covered path you can walk all the way around the Hohenzollern Wülzburg fortress. From here you have great views of the impressive walls and to the west over Weißenburg and into the distance
