At 869 meters, the Burgstein rock group is the highest point in the Luisenburg. From here you have a beautiful view of Tröstau in the west, Wunsiedel in the north and east towards the Czech Republic.

A visit to the castle ruins in the Steinwald is always impressive. In 1997 it was restored stone by stone by the Steinwaldia Pullenreuth association. Since then it has shone in new splendor.

Because of the clear, wide view in all directions (Bavarian Forest, Rhön, Thuringian Forest, Ore Mountains), the Kösseine was a popular destination from an early stage. The level of awareness was significantly increased in 1805 by visiting the then Prussian sovereignty. Opened to tourists since 1878, the mountain still attracts many hikers and cyclists today. There is no public road to the summit. The stone observation tower and the “Kösseinehaus” accommodation house of the Fichtelgebirge association invite you to take a look and stop for a bite to eat.

The loop around the lake is highly recommended. It's about 2.7 kilometers. The water is very boggy and more brown than blue.

The larger-than-life statue of "Mother Earth" is enthroned on a stone pedestal on the south side of the castle ruins. The imposing work of art was commissioned by Eberhard Freiherr von Gemmingen-Hornberg. The bronze statue, which embodies down-to-earthness and the connection between heaven and earth, was created by the sculptor Engelbert Süss from Pfreimd.

Germany's most beautiful hiking trail leads through the winding crevices and cracks of the 300 million year old granite giants, partly over stone steps and metal stairs. Rare luminous moor creates a special magic. Only partially suitable for dogs. They must remain on a leash, the path leads over several lattice stairs.

The viewing platform of the Burgsteinfelsen offers a beautiful view over the surrounding area, but you should have a head for heights.
