The historic Wittstock/Dosse station has a rich history and was opened in 1885 with the construction of the Prignitz Railway Company line. This line initially connected Perleberg, Pritzwalk, and Wittstock before being later extended to the Mecklenburg state border near Buschhof and further to Neustrelitz.
