If you approach the Rieder Tor from the old town, you have a very nice view of it with the branch of the Danube. The environment is very attractively designed, so that the detour is worthwhile.

Beautiful bridge that was blown up during World War II and then rebuilt in the original style. The Wörnitz flows here with numerous ramifications, small islands and waterfalls. Simply gorgeous.

Count Palatine Philipp Ludwig von Pfalz-Neuburg had the magnificent Renaissance palace built between 1589 and 1603. After his death, it was used by his wife, Duchess Anna, as a widow's residence. Today the castle houses several exciting exhibitions with numerous hands-on stations for big and small explorers. Opening times: April to October, Tuesday to Sunday and public holidays from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and on request.

This tunnel is a relief for anyone who simply wants to drive through Donauwörth; from the promenade into the tunnel, you have already avoided most of the traffic.

It is advisable to take a break here. A very beautiful lake. There is also a kiosk there, where everything from ice cream to hot dishes is very well "taken care of".

On a beautiful summer day we cycled along the Lech from Kissing to Donauwörth. Donauwörth really has a beautiful center, very recommendable.

I looked pretty strange at first when my satnav guided me straight to this door. But you don't have to shout "Open Sesame" here, you just have to make sure that everything is clear.

This used to be the passage of the railway tunnel. Now pedestrians and cyclists can cross this long tunnel. You don't see that every day.
