Lourdes grottoes, like this one south of the main portal of St. Blaise Church, are places of reflection and prayer, decorated with statues of the Madonna and the accompanying figure of the young Bernadette. In 1858, the Virgin Mary appeared to the 14-year-old girl in the French city of Lourdes. Many believers still make pilgrimages to the site today; the spring water that flows from the grotto is believed to have healing powers.

A welcome discovery for children, but a little caution is still required. A few steps have been carved into the rock here to give you more surefootedness.

Beautiful, but not really room to ride a bike. You should only walk here, especially as it is quite narrow and steep.
