I am not aware of any Stone Age finds here. It is not mentioned in the museum in Blaubeuren either.
There is another grotto below the castle. About 100 to 200 meters from here (as of July 2020: closed).
You can NOT see the castle from this point.

The cave's two indentations form a kind of pair of glasses, hence the name. It is an important archaeological site. Therefore - and for safety reasons - the interior of the cave cannot be entered. It is always an impressive sight.

An absolutely stunning place. The circular trail around the Blautopf is highly recommended. The Blautopf (21 meters deep) is a karst spring from which the Blau River rises.
