Since September 14, 1935, the Egern Parish Church Foundation has taken over ownership of the little church, so that it is now a subsidiary church of the parish. The parishioners and many donors continue to contribute to its preservation today.

The Riederstein (1207m) is a rock spur that can be seen from afar, approx. 150 meters above the Galaun Alm with the mountain inn there. Anyone who completes the well-known Stations of the Cross with its 14 display panels of Christ's suffering from 1897 and its approximately 500 steps definitely deserves a reward. The view of Tegernsee and the surrounding mountains from the small platform behind the chapel is definitely a worthy compensation for the effort.

The family-run inn with two attached holiday apartments is picturesquely located under the rocky spur of the Riederstein on the way to Baumgartenschneid. Hearty and good local dishes are served in cozy guest rooms and on the large, sunny terrace with around 170 seats.
