Highlights of the hike: • Natural paths: Mostly gravel or well-paved paths with a beautiful view of the lake. • Swimming areas & rest areas: Several places invite you to linger, have a picnic or, in summer, swim. • Margarethenschanze: A historic rampart fortress from the 8th/9th century on the western shore. • Bird watching: Many water birds can be spotted, especially in the morning hours.

The circular walk around Lake Einfeld is about 8 km long and takes you around the lake on a well-developed path. The route is flat and easy to walk, ideal for walkers, joggers and cyclists.

Bay at the Schanze.

The rest forest begins directly after walking between the ponds. Right at the beginning there is a small place of worship where you can rest on several benches. A sign asks you to only walk (i.e. do not push or ride bicycles). If you walk along the paths there you will pass several other, but smaller places of worship. I can only warmly recommend stopping by here.

It's the other way around with trees than with us humans: the older they get, the more beautiful they become.
