Paved path on the former railway line. It climbs for a few kilometers from Augsburg, then descends almost all the way to Horgau. Generally quite straight, but at some intersections there are "chicanes" that deliberately force slow driving.

The former Weldenbahn railway line has been largely preserved as an asphalted railway path and is now known as the "Landrat-Dr.-Frey-Radweg" (District Administrator Dr. Frey Cycle Path).

The Welden cycle path is wonderful to ride, very relaxed and comfortable. I can only recommend it.

The deeper parts of the lake are mainly used for swimming. There are sunbathing areas with an average width of 30 m over a length of 800 m. The winter-proof design of the changing rooms and toilet facilities makes ice sports on the lake ideal during frost periods.

The former Neusäß–Welden railway line is also known as the Weldenbahn. The dismantling of the rails took place from the spring of 1987. At Adelsried station there are still some remnants of the track that have been removed but have never been removed. The Weldenbahn remained largely intact as a paved cycle path. This is known as the Landrat-Dr.-Frey-Radweg and is also popular with inline skaters.
