Beautiful old town with lots of sights and great restaurants. Something for everyone. Very busy on nice days, of course. And the cobblestones are not for wimps ;)

The name of the gate is not for nothing. Many pairs of storks nest here. You can watch the storks in peace in the parking lot in front of the gate. As we drive through the area, they glide past us elegantly in the air. There is a small gate through the city wall for cyclists and pedestrians.

Dinkelsbühl is absolutely worth seeing, not only because of the well-preserved old town and the many half-timbered buildings.

It seems as if time has stood still in Dinkelsbühl: information signs and shop names are written in old German script. You will look in vain for advertising space or structural errors in Dinkelsbühl. From the Friday of the third to the Sunday of the fourth weekend in July, Dinkelsbühl hosts the Kinderzeche every year. There is then a detailed festival programme, which can be read on the website "kinderzeche.de". There will be e.g. B. closed the gates of the old town and showed how the children's lore and their children liberated the city from the Swedes. There is an entrance fee, but it is definitely worth seeing because everyone is dressed in the old-fashioned costumes, whether children, soldiers, riders, horses...

The jewel of the marketplace is the tube fountain built in 1727. On the fountain pillar is the goddess Minerva as the protector of domestic trade. The fountain mount is adorned with the colorful and historical coats of arms of Brandenburg and Württemberg, as well as the imperial eagle and the coat of arms of Feuchtwangen, the spruce.
