When you first climb the summit it is a bit strange to see all these “piles of stones”.

Summit book, Tibetan prayer flags, cairns - the somewhat hidden summit location shows a colorful mix. For practical use, there is also a bench to rest on :-)

Very well preserved tower and can be visited.

The watch towers in the Fulda district are a number of watch towers in the area of the old Fulda district. The (presumably) formerly nine towers were used for observation and have a largely uniform design. Today five towers are almost completely preserved, two of which are in their original condition and three have been converted into observation towers. This tower was closed at the time.

I've seen many beautiful spots in the Rhön, but the big Nalle is at least in the top 5! Just genius!

From here you can already see on Friday who is coming to visit on Monday...😏... it's amazing that such ideas are still being implemented from time to time... but an engineer did not plan this thing... he would have mentioned all 135 steps that were built here and not typed 122 on the board that describes the tower...☝️😊

Ruins on the Ebersberg. Two towers and a wall of the castle are still preserved. One of the towers is even accessible and offers a great view of the Hessian Rhön (Wasserkuppe, ...)

We were here in the early evening. The steep climb was worth it and we had the ruins to ourselves. Really great here.
