Due to its pristine nature, the Glaswaldsee is one of the most beautiful, clear blue eyes of the Black Forest. The name of the lake comes from a glassworks that stood in the Seebachtal together with a hamlet in the 17th century. In earlier times, glass for the bottles of the Rippoldsauer Sauerbrunnen was produced there.
