The Mummelsee mermaid, a bronze statue that sits enthroned on a rock in the Mummelsee, is a real highlight and the landmark of the Mummelsee. It can be admired directly from the shore and makes a wonderful photo opportunity. The mermaid is reminiscent of the legends and legends that surround the lake and adds a mystical touch to the already picturesque Mummelsee. The circular path around the Mummelsee, also known as the “Art Trail on the Mummelsee”, leads directly past it. In addition to the mermaid, this path also offers other works of art to discover. However, visitors should note that the path can be very busy, especially on weekends, and it can be very slippery around the lake in winter.

The bronze MUMMELSEENIXE sits alone on the rock, not far from the shore. She turns her back to the walker on the shore and looks out over the water. A plaque on the shore provides brief information about the legendary/mythical origin of the superstition that was widespread in earlier times about the existence of witches, fairies, mermaids (and similar mythical figures). The plaque then surprisingly contains a reference to the biblical letter from the Apostle Paul to the church in Corinth with an excerpt from the "Song of Songs".
