An old legend tells that mermaids and dwarfs as well as a king used to live in Lake Mummelsee. On full moon nights the mermaids are said to have come to the Deckerhof in Seebach to do handicrafts, sing and tell poems with the residents.
Even today, the mermaids come to visit village evenings. Of course only when accompanied by her strict father, the Mummelsee king.

A very nice, small lake - but unfortunately very crowded. Along the lake there is an art trail.

A really great lake below the Hornisgrinde. You can walk around the lake on a beautiful hiking trail. And discover some highlights. Like the mermaid here.
