The Evangelical Lutheran Church of St. Mary Margaret is located in the Rentwertshausen district of the Grabfeld municipality in the Schmalkalden-Meiningen district of Thuringia. It belongs to the Bibra parish in the Meiningen church district of the Evangelical Church in Central Germany. There is no date of construction for this strikingly small village church, with its half-timbered upper story in the church tower. Nothing is known about a previous building. However, the year 1604 in the pulpit inscription is linked to the construction period. The organ was purchased around 1800, and the baptismal font, dating from 1844, is neo-Gothic. In 1983, the church received modern wooden decorations, including an altar cross, antependium, ambo, and pulpit, by the Greiz artist Elly-Viola Nahmmacher. The museum, newly established in 1997, displays a variety of interesting exhibits. Visitors gain detailed insights into the history of Jüchsen. Some finds are the result of years of archaeological research into the prehistoric settlement of Widderstatt (dating back to 8000 BC). The well-written text and the selection of exhibits make the visit a unique experience for all history buffs. A beautifully renovated bakehouse in Jüchsen with a saying that says it all. The volunteer fire department hosts an annual bakehouse festival; it's wonderful that such traditions are preserved. Jüchsen boasts a record-breaking four bakehouses. Grabfeld-Jüchsen – The largest district of the municipality of Grabfeld is Jüchsen, with its approximately 1,500 inhabitants. In earlier times, all the villagers baked their bread in the local bakehouses when they were fired up weekly or monthly. Below the church stands a magnificent half-timbered house with ornate corner beams. It's great that something like this has been preserved, respect. 👌🏻

Beautiful to look at, unfortunately we weren't allowed in and there was no information about when it would be possible.

The fountain in the newly designed market was decorated with great animal figures. A real eye-catcher and secretly already a photo motif. Artist Claudia Katrin Leyh has carefully thought through the arrangement of her future animal ensemble at the fountain of the cattle market - so the Glücksburg serves as a backdrop. Geese, goats and other animals were traded at the Römhild cattle market well over 100 years ago. Now they are returning to the market as works of art.
