The “Leaning House”: A house in the center with a visible lean – a curious photo motif.

The chancellery gate, which marks the dividing line between the urban area in the south and the stately district in the north, was built in 1497 as the count's chancellery during the reign of Count Philipp von Nassau-Idstein. Other uses included a guard and prison room, a torture chamber, a granary and an apartment for servants. Today the festive, spacious wedding room of the Idstein registry office is on the first floor. Idstein is always worth a visit.

A short or long visit to Idstein is always worthwhile. It has a special flair with its pleasant pedestrian zone around the castle district and the half-timbered houses. And then a visit to the old fire brigade brewery to quench your thirst. One can fall in love with this small town.

One of the more recent attractions in Wiesbaden is the classicist Jagdschloss Platte, built on a plateau north of Wiesbaden. It was commissioned by Duke Wilhelm I of Nassau in 1823. After it fell victim to World War II, it was partially rebuilt in the late 1980s and today serves as an event venue.
