A breezy experience. It sways a bit up there, but it's worth it: the panoramic view is fantastic. I especially like the view across to the Pragsattel and out into the Neckar Valley. Please don't forget to drop in a one-euro donation. It's inexpensive and helps!

From this location you have a great panoramic view. In the evening, when the lights of the surrounding towns come on, a special atmosphere is created.

The hill was artificially raised in the 1950s, mainly using large amounts of rubble. The new hill that was created was initially called Heiner by the locals and soon became a destination for excursions. After it was overgrown with grass and other vegetation, the new conical hill was given the new nickname Green Heiner because of its more pleasing appearance. It owes its popularity in particular to the good view in clear weather.

Around 550 BC, a man aged around 40 to 50 was buried here with princely pomp. A mighty burial mound, around 6 m high and 60 m in diameter, was built over the burial chamber. It was not until the 1970s that traces of this mighty grave monument were found again. The Baden-Württemberg State Monument Authority carried out excavations from 1978 to 1979. The result was and still is sensational: the burial chamber was found completely unrobbed. The dead man was lying on a bronze couch. The prince wore the typical large gold collar and his dagger as a badge of status. Golden funeral jewelry suggests that the body was laid out in a ceremonial manner. The many fragments of fabrics and other objects are of particular importance. In keeping with his status, his four-wheeled, iron-clad cart with yoke and decorated bridle was placed in the grave. A showpiece of bronzesmithing from the Mediterranean region is the large lion cauldron, which contained over 400 litres of mead.

From this spot (at the time height 346), where the so-called "Kaiserstein" now stands, the 88-year-old Kaiser Wilhelm I and his entourage observed the maneuvers in the surrounding fields on September 22, 1885. On the front there was an embedded relief image of the Kaiser. The monument was surrounded by trees, including a Kaiser Wilhelm linden tree. The monument itself was covered with ferns, moss, ivy and cornflowers.

From above there is a unique 360-degree all-round view. Many benches, some with tables, are located all over the mountain and invite you to take a break.
