The Grafenburg in Lauffen am Neckar is a residential castle from the early 11th century. It is located on an island in the Neckar and was built by the Counts of Lauffen. From here you have a great view of the ruins of Altsachsenheim Castle, which towers high above the Enz. It is located in the immediate vicinity of the hamlet of Egartenhof. When you cycle up the steep mountain to the castle, you can admire the three meter thick and up to 14 meter high foundation walls up close. However, only from the outside, as viewing from the inside is currently not possible.
