Expulsion, flight and new beginnings: From 1936 to 1945, DOBIMAR V. KAMEKE was the head of seed breeding in Streckenthin. On July 20, 1944, he was taken prisoner by Russian troops. He and his colleagues had no way of bringing the valuable potato collection or the seeds to safety for further cultivation. A hastily packed backpack with seeds that was supposed to secure a new beginning was lost during the escape.

4월 17, 2024, Pritzwalk Town Hall
The fire disaster of November 1, 1821 reduced the old Pritzwalk and the old town hall to rubble and ashes. The reconstruction of the public buildings took several years. Construction of the town hall did not begin until 1826. The smaller new town hall only partially used the foundations of the previous building. The result was a building of simple form in the style of late classicism. At first, this was only the 28-meter-long main building with a protruding central section. The side buildings and the inner courtyard of the town hall were not built until the middle of the century.

The current building dates from 1826. In 1995, during archaeological research into the town centre, the foundations of the oldest town hall were uncovered in Pritzwalk. The construction period is currently dated to the late 13th and 14th centuries. According to a description from 1744, the building was massive with three vaults one above the other, painted yellow and white. The second floor contained, among other things, the audience chamber, below which was the town hall cellar, and below this a large and small vaulted cellar.

Nice town hall. The contrast between the white walls and the red hanging geraniums is particularly effective.

First mentioned in 1356 as Lutken Linienthin, the addition Lutken was dropped in 1574 after the neighboring town of Groß Linienthin had become a deserted town. In 1608 the estate of Linienthin was raised to the status of a knight's residence. For more than three centuries it belonged to the noble family von Zicker, until 1945 it was managed by the Klotz family from Linienthin. If you follow the old cobblestone street in Linienthin, which leads through the village, after a small left turn, the view of the stately manor house opens up. In 2005, a community of owners around Tom Stromberg, the former director of the Hamburger Schauspielhaus, bought the house. At the time, students were rehearsing and staging, such as an open-air theater relay at the museum printing house's summer festival in 2007. After that, it became quiet about the theater academy called "What you want" after its co-founder, the well-known director Peter Zadeck, died in 2009.

The Wahlfahrt church is visible from afar. A field and brick building, dedicated to St. Anne in 1520 and larger than average for this area. There is a lot to read on the information boards around the church. The keeper of the key is Mrs. Schick 03395-303007 (altekirchen.de/offene-kirchen/kirchen/dorfkirche-st-anna-alt-kruessow).

4월 22, 2022, St. Nikolai Town Church Pritzwalk
The town church of St. Nikolai is a Gothic hall church with the carved altar of the Alt Krüssow pilgrimage church. Like the old town hall, the previous tower was destroyed in the flames of 1821. While the church's restoration progressed rapidly, it was not until 1882 that a spire was erected again. The church itself dates back to 1230. It had to be expanded as early as 1278, after Pritzwalk had been granted city rights a few years earlier. It was built again and again for almost 200 years until it reached the dimensions in 1451 that are still impressive today. The outer walls clearly show how an original field stone church with a brick structure was completed here. Fires repeatedly forced repairs. The late Gothic winged altar from 1250 has been on loan from the Alt Krüssow Church since 1976. https://www.reiseland-brandenburg.de/poi/prignitz/kirchen/stadtkirche-st-nikolai-pritzwalk/?no_cache=1
