A beautiful view of the castle

The small town has a beautiful castle and a beautiful church.

Already well hidden by foliage, but still enough for a few snapshots;

Rieneck Castle is a hilltop castle built around 1150 above the town of Rieneck in the Sinntal in Lower Franconia in Bavaria. Today it is the youth castle of the Association of Christian Girl Scouts and Boy Scouts (VCP). The castle is known for its tower chapel, which is unique on the European mainland and is located entirely in the wall of the keep. On the way you spot one or the other castle in the Sinntal

The builder of the former moated castle built in the Renaissance style was Otto Wilhelm Freiherr von Thüngen (1528-1568). In the baroque period in the 18th century it was partially redesigned. Since the 19th century, the former Thüngensche moated castle has only been partially inhabited, so that the decay continued to progress. In the 1980s, at least emergency backups were carried out after partial collapses. A partial restoration has been carried out since 1995, so that one wing can be inhabited again. A holiday apartment has also been set up. A valuable part of the former interior is part of the inventory of the Kunstgewerbemuseum Berlin: the Höllricher Stube. The 16C timber paneling was removed in 1890 and sold to the museum.
