The Hohenzollern Bridge is a bridge over the Rhine in Cologne at river kilometer 688.5. The original structure, built between 1907 and 1911, consisted of two railway bridges and one road bridge. After 1945, only two railway bridges were rebuilt, with a third later added. To replace the demolished road bridge, the outer railway bridges were supplemented with footpaths and cycle paths. The Hohenzollern Bridge and the adjacent main station are one of the most important hubs in the German and European railway network. Together with Cologne Cathedral, the structure is an integral part of Cologne's cityscape. With 1,220 train journeys a day, it is the busiest railway bridge in Germany.  Together with Cologne Central Station, the structure is considered a central bottleneck in rail traffic in the Cologne region.

It's great to stroll along the Hohenzoller Bridge from the German side towards the cathedral. In the evening it was really beautiful. Great photo opportunity.

The Hohernzoller Rhine Bridge, like all of Cologne's Rhine bridges, is an impressive structure, However, in my opinion you have a great view of the cathedral from this bridge

There is a bike path next to the tracks. What's amazing is that the bridge hasn't collapsed under the weight of all the padlocks on the railings

The Hohenzollern Bridge is the busiest railway bridge in Germany with around 1,500 train journeys per day. The Italian custom of love locks has been spreading rapidly on the 409 m long bridge since 2008. Meanwhile, the number of castles was estimated at over 500,000. According to estimates, the weight of the locks is well over 100 tons, but this should not pose a threat to the bridge's statics. The steel structure itself has a total weight of 24,000 tons.
