The Rio Couro is said to be the "most trout-rich river in the universe". There is a small waterfall, reservoirs and several cascades here. Behind the house there is a small ramp on the right, from which you have a good view of the area.

The railway section that connected Monção to Valença was deactivated several years ago, suffering progressive degradation due to the lack of use. The Municipalities of Monção and Valença signed protocols with REFER so that, in that section, an Ecopista could be built, intended for cycling and walking. Opened on November 14, 2004, the Ecopista do Rio Minho is a route of more than 20 km, next to the river, which deserves great praise and applause from most people. Along the route, between the historic centers of Monção and Valença, there are plenty of points of interest, making this ecological route the first in Portugal to take advantage of deactivated railway lines.

Albergue Quinta da Estrada Romana, exclusively for Pilgrims, is located in Passos - Valença, on the Portuguese Way of Santiago, 28 km after Ponte de Lima, 20 km after Labruja and 8 km before the wall of Valença. The hostel has a dormitory with three bunk beds for six people and a dormitory with eight single beds and two double beds. It also has a private bedroom with a double bed and private bathroom.

The Coura river originates in the Boalhosa mountain range, in the Chã de Lamas lagoon and in the Corno de Bico mountain range and flows into the left bank of the Minho. It passes through the municipalities of Paredes de Coura, Vila Nova de Cerveira and Caminha and the parishes of Formariz, Paredes de Coura, Rubiães, São Martinho de Coura, Covas (Vila Nova de Cerveira), Vilar de Mouros, Venade, Vilarelho, Seixas, and Walk.
