The lake is 1648 m above sea level. A. in the Duisitzkar on the west side above the Obertal. It rests embedded in a montane mixed larch forest between Ferchtlhöhe (1913 m) in the north, Murspitzen (2333 m) in the west and Duisitzer Hahnkamp (2296 m) in the south. The approximately 5.4 ha large water surface[1] is fed by the tributary of the same name from the Humpback Cirque Lakes (2073 m) to the south-west, which flows into a small delta. A conspicuous paragneiss spur towers around 60 meters above the lake at the cirque. The Fahrlechhütte and the Duisitzkarseehütte are located on the north-eastern shore, in the immediate vicinity of the lake.

Probably the most beautiful photo spot on the Duisitzkarsee. From here you have a view of the entire lake, the two huts on the opposite bank and a fantastic view of the surrounding 2000s (Hintere Waschlkarspitze, Grünriedl, Hinterer Wildkarstein and the Wasserfallspitze). Simply uniquely beautiful!

Very tasty and highly recommended. Prices are expensive but acceptable. But: The place is also very touristy - in the summer (holidays) it is incredibly busy, even when the weather is bad. You sometimes have to wait a while for a free spot.

A breathtaking place that was rightly voted the 2nd most beautiful place in Styria, the green heart of Austria. Wonderful hikes, fantastic photo spots and above all a great time in nature! But: The place is also very touristy - in the summer time (holidays) there is a lot going on, even when the weather is bad. It is advisable to be there very early.
