The once sprawling Bismarck oak, planted in 1905 in honor of the former Chancellor, suffered severe damage during Storm Ignatz in 2021. For safety reasons, experts had to prune the natural monument back to a tree stump.

Location: In the passage of the Einersheim Gate, behind the northern gate wing in front of the northern wall. Legend: During the Thirty Years' War, Swedish troops entered the town through the Einersheim Gate in 1632. A councilman tried to plead for mercy for the town and its inhabitants, but was stabbed by a mercenary. The cross was erected on the spot where he died.

This is the Einersheim Gate in Iphofen. It is one of the four gates of the medieval city fortifications and is still very well preserved. Its solid construction is particularly impressive. Today, it's a great photo opportunity and a good starting point for a stroll through the old town.
