Even though this small, sacred monument isn't located on the famous Camino de Santiago through northern Spain, perhaps some thoughts from Hape Kerkeling might offer some inspiration in light of the summit cross standing here. The entertainer, famous especially in Germany, walked the Camino Francés in 2001 and kept a diary, which was published under the title "I'm Off Then." In it, he describes his personal encounter with God along the way as follows: "Yesterday, something inside me struck a huge gong. And the sound will resonate. Sooner or later, this path shakes everyone to their core. I know the sound will slowly fade, but if I listen closely, I'll be able to perceive this echo for a very long time."

In good weather, the small, steep climb is worth it - the lookout tower and the view into the valley.

The Kernstockwarte near Kirchberg am Wechsel is located at an altitude of 852 meters on the Wolfenkogel. From here, you can enjoy a beautiful view of the Wechsel region. The Kernstockwarte is easily accessible directly from the center of Kirchberg via hiking trails and forest roads.

near Grimmenstein Castle

The Hochgrimmenstein ruin is located on the summit of the Kulmriegel (795m). I was previously at Grimmenstein Castle, from here it was easy to drive to here. Unfortunately, only the wall remains of the square keep of Hochgrimmenstein Castle have survived. In the middle of the remains of the wall, a bench invites you to take a break at the summit.
