The Hermesvilla in the Lainz Tiergarten is an elegant, historic palace that once served as a summer residence for Empress Elisabeth. Surrounded by expansive parkland and idyllic forest paths, the villa combines cultural history with a natural experience. Today, it houses a museum offering fascinating insights into the life of the Empress and the history of the Vienna Woods. A visit to the Hermesvilla is a perfect stopover for anyone who wants to combine history, art, and nature on their tour of the Tiergarten.

The ruins of Johannstein Castle are located near Sparbach in Lower Austria (Austria), around eight kilometers west of Mödling at around 450 m above sea level. It is not certain when the hilltop castle was built. It was first given the name "ruin". Since 1809, the ruins and the Sparbach zoo have belonged to the Liechtenstein family. Between 1995 and 2000, the remaining masonry was fundamentally secured and restored. Today, the ruins are almost completely surrounded by the surrounding forest. Access is only possible during the zoo's opening hours.

It is a very small, polygonal castle complex made of rubble stones, which was built using a rock. It is surrounded by a neck ditch carved into the rock. Today a wooden bridge that leads over it connects one of the rocks with the pointed arched gate. The complex included the kennel, the keep, the small castle chapel as well as a square palace west of the keep and a triangular palace south of it.
