    Today only part of the curtain wall and a section of the wall adjoining the keep are preserved.

    The castle was 40 by 25 meters with a wall height of 15 meters. Since it was bordered on three sides by steep cliffs, it was practically only accessible from the west side via a one meter wide suspension bridge. On the southeastern curtain wall (Bering) was a four-story half-timbered building as a hall.

    At the highest point of the site was a pentagonal keep, which was up to three meters thick. It was four storeys high and could only be entered via a ladder.

            This is not just a highlight for hikers also for mountainbikers there runs a great singletrack down to Kaltenleutgeben which is a good one for intermediate riders or for better beginners who search their first proper challenge.

              Built in 1240/50 by Otto II of Perchtoldsdorf (chamberlain - hence the name) as an alternative to the frequently conquered Perchtoldsdorf Castle. In the course of a noble uprising against the incipient rule of the Habsburgs, it was besieged in vain and finally conquered and destroyed in 1290 by a ruse (feigning reconciliation and an invitation to Vienna).

              Not much of the castle remains, the view is mediocre and, because of the vegetation, only visible in autumn/winter.
