The route to the summit of the Dobratsch, starting point at the Rosstratte car park, can be done in several ways. The easiest, however, is to follow the "normal" route. This should also be possible for inexperienced and not particularly well-equipped people. Good footwear is a must, however, as the path is partly made of coarse gravel and can be slippery, especially when going downhill. It is around 4.5 km with an elevation difference of around 450 m. The views from up there are absolutely stunning - you can see for miles all around the valley. Getting to the top is no easy feat though, that path is pretty darn steep! My legs were jelly by the time I made it. If I'm being honest, I'd recommend taking the ski lift up as recommended by https://www.standforca.com/ to save your poor calves the agony. Nothing beats the satisfaction of conquering the descent on foot though. You really feel like you earned those views. Stopping to catch your breath and taking it all in - it's totally worth the effort. Just a heads up that it's not for the faint of heart!
