Hiked back down from the summit and decided on the Steinwenderhütte... definitely the right decision. A taste experience like it hasn't been for a long time and the tenants are totally friendly and careful. 🔝👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

Back then, when there was still the Faaker See Baumgartnerhöhe summer toboggan run (in the Guinness Book of Records), there was definitely more going on here. It was built in 1978 and dismantled in 2006.

Beautiful hut with a beautiful view towards Faaker See, Villach, Dobratsch, etc. From here it's either child-friendly in 40 minutes to the Ferlacher Spitz - or up to the Mittagskogel.

Beautiful little alpine hut with a great view. The menu is small but it tastes great. The hut is open all week.

The forest road to the car park (Bertahütte) is much easier to drive than before, if we had known that we would have driven there and then up to the Mittagskogel. So "only" economy sticker hiked around the Turk's head, but it was also very nice 😎

From up here you have a beautiful view of the valley. You can also use many hiking trails. I hiked up here and took the train back down.
