Maissau Castle is a well-preserved hilltop castle. Its history dates back to the 12th century. Two distinct aspects of the complex are presented to the viewer. The older part, facing the forest, dates back to the 14th/15th century and still displays early Gothic architecture, particularly the watchtower and defense tower. From the town side, the southern wing, since its 19th-century remodeling, bears the character of a Romanesque-Neo-Gothic style. The complex is owned by the Abensperg and Traun families. It is not open to the public.

Nice stop with a huge stone table. Wetland biotope, small bridge and a nice opportunity for a detour through almost invisible path along the small stream.

Beautiful lookout point with a rest area and a view over the Wagram and Grafenegg Castle 😊 ... Well, not visible in the photos in the wet, cold and foggy January 😄 ... even more beautiful photos will follow in spring/summer 2025 👍

Observation tower on the Haide Engabrunn The observation tower on the Haide in Engabrunn, built in 2004, is located at around 290 m and is around 10 m high. In clear weather you can enjoy the view of Schneeberg, Rax and Ötscher. From here you can also see five wine-growing regions in Lower Austria: Kamptal, Donauland, Traisental, Wachau and Kremstal.
