Pedestrian canyon trails start here with mandatory guides. You can leave your bike safely with them. There are also mountain bikes for rent here, and biking guides to explore Hells Gate National Park.

This is the access to the scenic canyon. It can also be biked, rental are available here and at the main gate

At this access to the Western (Elsa) gate into the national park are several bike rental providers. There are more rentals at the Elsa Gate itself about 1.8 km inside, as this is the only national park in Kenya allowing bike riding. Most bikes are old, low-end, medium or small mountain bikes, just ok to roll along the mostly flat lower sections of the park. For higher quality and sizes it is recommended to rent from stores in town, mainly Nairobi, or bring your own.

Rangers check park entry tickets at the road turnoff that leads down to this trailhead. Massai community guides are currently mandatory to hike into the gorge so the Massai get at least some benefit from the park on their land. A section of the trail that runs closest to the edge of the gorge is temporarily closed and guides are supposedly enforced after an unaccompanied hiker had an accident in 2022. There's a free drinking water container with a tap that gets refilled by the park service with chlorinated water. A dirt road leads a bit before the parking lot to the west, parallel below the paved road, to a group of souvenir market stalls from where one might be able to walk quietly without a guide
