The Spitzmeilenhütte is an alpine hut located at 2,087 meters above sea level in the canton of St. Gallen, Switzerland, at the foot of the distinctive Spitzmeilen peak. It offers 44 beds in multiple rooms and 8 places in the winter room. The hut is open from mid-June to the end of October and, in winter, from Christmas to Easter, mainly on weekends. Located within the UNESCO World Heritage Site "Tectonic Arena Sardona", it is an ideal starting point for hiking, mountaineering and mountain biking tours in the summer, and for ski touring in the winter. The location offers a breathtaking view of the Churfirsten and the Spitzmeilen. To reach it, you can start from the Maschgenkamm mountain station (Flumserberg) in about 2-2.5 hours, or from Tannenboden in 4-5 hours. A small pass from Toggenburg to Amden and thus to Lake Walen. A small moor. And a very beautiful view of the upper Toggenburg.

A few meters from the Spitzmeilenhütte there is this bathing pool. A small waterfall massages the back, and the ancient red Verrucano stone serves as a tepidarium, wonderful to relax on the hot stones.

In summer there is a comfortable promenade path up to this point, and in winter there are several well-maintained ski slopes from the Maschgenkamm.

Ideal place to take a break and enjoy a coffee. Beautiful location on the Grosssee, wonderful view of the mountains, and - last but not least - very friendly service!

Berggasthaus Murgsee at 1818 m The restaurant at the upper Murgsee is open during the summer and autumn seasons. The house has always retained its simple and rustic character. It serves as a summer season mountain restaurant and is mainly a rest stop for hikers or sport fishermen who seek relaxation by the crystal-clear waters. Danger! Severe storms sometimes occur here that do not appear in the weather forecast and cannot be seen from the valley. Check out Windy beforehand to be on the safe side and take gaiters with you, as there can still be deep snow in April and you can sink in heavily. Not a hike for inexperienced people.
