Pertisau am Achensee is located on the western shore of Lake Achensee, directly at the foot of the Karwendel Nature Park, Austria's largest nature park and one of the most beautiful mountain hiking areas in Europe. Pertisau is home to a main landing stage for the Achensee shipping company, and the renowned Tiroler Steinöl® (Tiroler Shale Oil) is also produced there. It is extracted at the shale oil works in the Karwendel Mountains and then processed into excellent skincare products. At the Tiroler Steinöl Vitalberg (Tiroler Steinöl Vitalberg), the shale oil museum in Pertisau, visitors learn all about the extraction and processing of Tiroler Steinöl. Due to its close proximity to the Karwendel Nature Park, the town is a good starting point for wonderful hikes or mountain bike tours. There are various alpine pastures with excellent food and drink! 😋🍺

There are now three platforms, distributed along the section between Scholastika and Gaisalm, and vice versa.

Whether from the terrace of the Erfurter Hütte or from the mountain station of the Rofanbahn, the view is magnificent.

Beautiful cycle path along the lakeshore from Achenkirch to Maurach without touching the main road. There are a lot of walkers though, so be careful. From Maurach it goes down via the toboggan run to Wiesing/Jenbach to the train station.

Riding along Lake Achensee is fun during the week - the mountains, the sky and the blue water form a backdrop that makes pedalling much easier. At the weekend, when the weather is good, many people love this atmosphere - it's full.

The emerald green surface can glitter in the sun, and the water's clarity allows you to see up to 10 meters deep, which is something special. The lake is framed by two mountain ranges - the Rofan Mountains and the Karwendel Nature Park - like a protective bulwark.
