The Rifugio Passo di Vizze is located at 2,276 meters above sea level on the Italian-Austrian border, in the Ötztal Alps. The waterfall runs directly along the path at one point on the ascent to the Olpererhütte from Schlegeisspeicher. Stones along the path invite you to take a refreshing break ⛰️💧

The Ahornsee is actually a small artificial pond. There is a lot going on and there is something for children here. Lots of wooden loungers to enjoy.

On the way to the Olpererhütte there are small water inlets to the lake here and there.

One of the five reservoirs in the Zillertal is located at 1,850 m above sea level, the Zillergründl reservoir or Zillergrund reservoir, built in the 1980s. A toll road (€8) leads from Mayrhofen to the reservoir. However, you cannot drive directly up to the reservoir. The last parking lot is in the hamlet of Bärenbad. Here at the latest you have to change to a bus. This will take you to the dam at the lake.

The 186 m high, 506 m long and 7 m wide dam wall at the crown was completed in 1986, making it the second largest in Austria. The rearmost part of the Zillergrund is called Zillergründl, which is why the reservoir built there also bears this name.
