The Fondo Valle Refuge (Talschlusshuette) rises at 1,548 m above sea level, in the heart of the Val Fiscalina, surrounded by majestic peaks such as the Croda Rossa, the imposing Cima Una, the Sesto Sundial and the grandiose Punta Tre Scarperi. In 1993 it will be equipped with connections to the electricity line and to the sewer. On March 17, 2003 the old shelter was demolished. After only three months, on 21 June, the new Fondovalle Refuge was inaugurated. On 12 October of the same year will be celebrated with the 50th anniversary of a hotel which, in the meantime, has now become an integral part of the Val Fiscalina. During our crossing of the Alps, this was the hut with the worst quality food and overnight accommodation. The low point of the stay was an alleged "manager" who sold/charged you a beer at 9:45 p.m. and then drove everyone out of the guest room at 10:05 p.m., screaming loudly. If you don't want to have a nice day of vacation ruined by a choleric "manager" in the evening, you should avoid this hut and stay overnight in Innichen or choose an alternative hut.
