The Ischler Hütte is located at approximately 1,368 meters in the Schwarzenbergalm region of the Totes Gebirge mountains. It was built in the 1920s and later replaced by a new octagonal structure. It can only be reached on foot, for example, from the Rettenbachalm. The hut offers not only sweeping views of the mountains but also traditional dishes such as cheese dumplings and game dishes – all freshly prepared in a cozy, alpine atmosphere.

The conditions for a day of snowshoeing in Altaussee are quickly created: simply ask at the reception of the AlpenParks Hagan Lodge Altaussee about rental equipment for snowshoeing. What you should bring with you: sturdy high hiking boots (not ski boots), appropriate hiking clothing, gloves, hat, sunglasses, small backpack with water bottle.

Emil Ritter von Horstig (1845 to 1931) was the builder of this small and simple, but perhaps for that reason very impressive, "Peace Church". A sign informs: "The Stoderkirchel stands in a rock niche as a symbol of tolerance and mutual respect among the denominations... This landmark of the Enns Valley belongs to the Gröbming local office of the Austrian mountain rescue service and is also lovingly maintained by them."

The drive up the Stoderzinken Alpine Road is an experience in itself. Especially in the last third, where the road hugs the rocks to the starting point. On the short hike from the Rosemi Alm to the Alpengasthof Steiner, you get your first glimpse of the Dachstein glacier high above the forest. A beautiful, narrow path leads directly along the rocks to the chapel, which sits like an eagle's nest on the summit and offers a wonderful view over the Ennstal and to Gröbming and Aich-Assach.
