From this viewing platform, you have a great view of the huge quarry and the Dyckerhoff cement plant in Lengerich to the south. An information panel explains how the Teutoburg Forest was uplifted. As the ridge folded, the former seabed, with its dense limestone deposits, tilted upwards. This forms the southern slope of the Teutoburg Forest, where the limestone has been mined for centuries.

Lake Königssee is located near Tecklenburg in the state of North Rhine-Westphalia (district of Steinfurt). Other nearby towns include Lengerich (3.7 km), Ibbenbüren (9.6 km), Ladbergen (9.9 km), Lotte (10.0 km), and Hasbergen (10.4 km). A total of nine fish species have been reported to us for Lake Königssee. Further information on these and other fish species can be found in our fish encyclopedia. Any applicable legal closed seasons and minimum sizes in North Rhine-Westphalia can be found on our page "Closed Seasons & Minimum Sizes in Germany." Please note that different regulations may apply to Lake Königssee. There are other bodies of water in the vicinity for which, according to our information, fishing permits are issued to visitors. These include, for example, the following bodies of water: Buddenkuhle (6.2 km) Nollmannsee (7.0 km) Voskortsee (11.8 km) Meier See (12.3 km) or Präriesee (13.1 km)
