Good food, promising paths and little altitude speak for the Escheck pass between Basler and Schützenbachtal. However, it can get crowded here. Top destinations that can be easily reached from here are: Stöcklewaldkopf (1067m; hiking home and observation tower with a view of the Alps) Martinskapelle / Brend: Source of the Danube, extensive, attractive hiking area and enjoy one of the most beautiful views in the Black Forest from the Brend Tower, several places to stop for refreshments with good food

"In addition to the geologically interesting Kesselberg Fault, there are also indications of early mining in the Middle Ages. Perhaps the Celts have already mined here because this people were already able to smelt iron. The name Kesselberg is rather illogical from a geographical point of view."
