The Alb Basin or Alb Dam is a reservoir in the Alb valley near St. Blasien (southern Black Forest). The gravity dam of the Alb reservoir is 28 m high. The dam between Schluchsee and the Rhine near Waldshut is part of the pumped storage network of Schluchseewerk AG.

The monastery pond is a private pond and belongs to the Landgasthof Klosterweiherhof. I spent a few nice days with her on very nice hikes and on my return I enjoyed cooling off in the monastery pond.

Very friendly reception, nice location. Closed on Tuesday, but you can have dinner 700 m away in the Dachsberger Hof (closed on the website, by mistake, also noted for Tuesday, Aug. 22).

Great reservoir with a beautiful circular route. Unfortunately little water at the moment.

According to tradition, the monastery pond was created as a fish pond for the monastery of St. Blasien. It is a popular destination, especially because of the neighboring Landgasthof Klosterweiherhof with its spacious lakeside terrace.

A dolienensee that only appears when the groundwater level is high and then disappears again. There are rare crabs.

The glacier pot of the Krai-Woog-Gumpen and the waterfall below are a wonderful relic of the Ice Age. A popular place to swim in summer.

The pond is beautiful and quiet.
