Lake Walchsee, at the foot of the imposing Kaiser Mountains, is not only one of the most beautiful but also one of the warmest lakes in Tyrol. This makes it a popular bathing lake and a true flagship of the Kaiserwinkl region in the Tyrolean lowlands – in fact, Lake Walchsee was even immortalized with a blue wave in the village coat of arms of the municipality of the same name. The lake has many exciting and astonishing facts and stories to offer that are guaranteed to surprise you.

The water flows from the lake via the approximately 500-meter-long Walchseebach stream on the eastern side into the Weißenbach stream. This stream, in turn, flows via the Kohlenbach stream into the Großache stream, which empties into Lake Chiemsee near Grabenstätt.

You can get a direct view of Lake Chiemsee while riding the gondola. But as soon as you start walking, the view of Lake Chiemsee with the rocks at the top of the Kampenwand is impressive. When the weather is nice you can see very far! You have the feeling that you can see all over Germany, the view is so vast.
