Climbing rocks in the forest and viewing platform

For climbers, the name Wailing Wall says it all. Anyone who tries to dig into the tiny holes here can quickly find themselves complaining. The rock is up to seven meters high and is part of the Signal Stone.

If you just want to walk a few meters in the beautiful nature, everything is right here... unfortunately the inn was closed... but the weather and the nature were perfect 🙏🦊

Great view from the tower (the key can be borrowed for a fee from the Edelweißhütte, about 1 kilometer away). There is also a table with benches right in front of the beautiful tower.

Highly recommended. But double the highlight.

Such a beautiful tower! I would love to be up there, but I didn't ask for the key at the Edelweißhütte, the tip came too late for me.... .

Next to it there is an undercover hut with seating.

In the Middle Ages, the castles Leienfels, Bärnfels, Obertrubach, Egloffstein and Thuisbrunn communicated and warned each other by means of beacons that were lit here. This type of warning system was used until the 19th century, including with flashing signals. The vegetation was probably a bit sparse there.
