A refreshment before the descent. Very nice location. If you want to challenge the Nagelfluh chain, the ideal starting point.

Located a little below the mountain station, but no mass processing. Good view of the valley, but no all-round view like above. So weigh it yourself.

The Gaisalpe is an old, rustic inn. When the weather is nice, you can sit outside under old chestnuts. The dishes are very tasty. Several hiking trails converge here.

If you have the opportunity, just enjoy it. When we went to the Allgäu for a short vacation, we were unlucky. Fog as far as the eye could see. That, in turn, had something from above the clouds.

A great destination for a MTB tour, coming from Reichenbach or coming from Oberstdorf on the Wallrafweg. Nice views and a nice place to stop.

The Grüntenhaus was the first hotel in the Allgäu Alps. Today it is a mountain inn with the character of a hut. The building is located at a height of 1535 meters on the Grünten, which was chosen for the hotel because of its location, which offers a wide view of the Allgäu.

A house steeped in history awaits you below the Grünten summit at an altitude of 1,535 meters: the Grüntenhaus. In 1851, Carl Hirnbein built the Grüntenhaus, the first and at that time the only accommodation in the Allgäu Alps. Curiously, he offered those who could not manage the climb on foot a ride to the Grüntenhaus on mules specially purchased in Savoy. Although you can no longer choose the donkeys for the climb and have to work your way up yourself, that does not detract from the fascination of this place. From the hearty mountaineer's snack to soups, changing hot daily dishes or homemade cakes: every hiker's heart is well catered for up here. And on top of that, the Egenrieder couple who run the hut will give you helpful tips about your hike.
