The rustic Kronenhütte is located at an altitude of 1,120 meters and is open year-round. Here, you can stop by and enjoy the legendary Käsespätzle (cheese spaetzle) on the sun terrace or in the cozy dining room. If you'd like to stay longer, you can also stay overnight at the hut. The hut is located at an altitude of almost 1,200 meters and is open year-round. This makes it a great place to stop for a break in any season. The Kaiserschmarren (sweet pancakes) is legendary, but all the other dishes made with regional ingredients are also delicious. You can enjoy them in the warm dining room, in the winter garden, or on the large sun terrace, from which you have a magnificent view of Lake Grünten and the Alpine foothills. The Beilsteinalpe is very informal and simple, and the landlady was very friendly. Outside of opening hours, you just need to ring the bell and pray; maybe someone will come. The alpine hut is quiet, has no mountain views, and the interior is a bit dark due to the lack of large windows. My brother and I had sausage salad and homemade cake for dessert, and both were delicious. Unfortunately, I forgot what else they serve; it's probably the usual Alpine fare.

Popular destination for families with small children (animals and playground). Magnificent view over Lake Niedersonthofen into the mountains. Good cakes and snacks.
