Altenberg Cathedral is a central rest stop and landmark in the Dhünn Valley and one of the most beautiful Gothic churches in Germany. Inside, the 144-square-meter west window is well worth a visit – the largest church window north of the Alps. Public tours are offered regularly from March to October. Nearby, there are restaurants and seating areas – perfect for recharging your batteries.

Altenberg (district of Odenthal) is located in the Bergisches Land and belongs to the Rheinisch-Bergisch district. Altenberg is best known for the Altenberg Cathedral, the monastery church of the former Altenberg Abbey. This hike follows the water route, a circular hiking trail that was set up as part of the "unverDHÜNNt" campaign.

Burg Castle towers 110 meters high above the Wupper, and the defiant keep can be seen from far away. Inside there are massive walls, huge archways, narrow streets, narrow courtyards and sunny terraces. The origins go back to the 12th century: In the Middle Ages, the castle was the seat of the Counts of Berg, the scene of courtly festivals and a place of great politics. Today it is one of the most popular excursion destinations in the region. Anyone who comes here takes a journey back in time to the Middle Ages - swords and armor included. History comes to life here and you get an impression of what it used to be like. The view from above, over the valleys and heights of the Wupperberge, into the vastness of the Bergisches Land is simply fantastic. The barrier - the barrier structure The dam in the south of Solingen is one of the oldest drinking water dams in Germany. In 1903 it was inaugurated. In the meantime, she supplies all parts of the blade city with the increasingly valuable liquid. The mighty quarry stone dam (43 meters high above the foundation level, 178 meters long) can hold around three million cubic meters of water. Cute, small district on the Wupper with beautiful Bergisch cafes and restaurants. From here you can take the cable car up to Burg Castle or walk.
