I don't want to create a restaurant guide, but this little forest tavern deserves a mention. Fantastic view and delicious food from the rotisserie grill. Seating is available both inside and outside. Prices and quality are just as good as the friendliness of the owners. Opening hours are Tuesday to Sunday from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.

Unfortunately, the forest tavern is closed until indefinitely ☹️

On the municipal border between Pilmeroth and Emmeroth, for example, you pass the Rotzekopp Hut on the Moselsteig Trail, a side trip to the parish's valley tour. The trail leads up along a beautiful, narrow path. Built in 1973 by the volunteer fire departments of both villages, it can now be rented for events after renovations in 2001. The complex consists of several fire pits and huts, as well as a stage. A campsite is located right next to it. The site on Rotzekopp is called the Kaisergarten (Emperor's Garden). Therefore, some of the seating areas on the grounds face the "Kaisereiche" (Emperor's Oak). Many locations and trees (especially the "German" oak) were dedicated to the German Emperor and the German Empire at the end of the 19th century. These names are gradually disappearing as many old oak trees reach the end of their lives and are felled.

The Jakob-Maria-Mierscheid-Weg cottage is in an idyllic location, from there you have wonderful views over the Hunsrück. The fictional character Mierscheid: Jakob -Maria-Mierscheid is a fictional character representing a German politician. As such, Mierscheid belongs to the Social Democratic Party of Germany, has been a member of the German Bundestag since 1979 and is reflected there accordingly.

Idyllically located on the edge of the forest. Beautiful shady places with a great view of the Moselle valley. Thoroughly recommended.
